The Feigenblatt Family Needs Your Help!
Myotonic Dystrophy is a terrible disease of the muscles. This disease is inherited and passed on through generations. Im Myotonic Dystrophy patients, the muscles contract and are unable to relax. Other common symptoms include muscle loss, heart issues, hair loss and psychological disorders.
Retired motorcycle officer Ed Feigenblatt is suffering from this terrible debilitating disease that has no cure. Moreover, Ed’s three sons , Christopher 28, Nicholas 25, who is autistic, and Jonathan 21 have also been diagnosed with Myotonic Dystrophy. Ed has a defibrillator implanted. Additionally, he and his three sons all have pacemakers.
Ed served the Miami Beach Police Department for 27 years, 20 of those years were in the Motor Unit.
Ed is in need of repairs to his home and modifications to make it wheelchair accessible.
Ed’s doctor visits along with his three sons have become trying. His wife is the one who takes Ed and their 3 sons to Shanes hospital in Gainesville which is a 45 minute drive one way from their home. His wife has to handle the wheelchair and oxygen tank which only last 2 hours during every visit.
Lastly, we graciously ask you to help us raise monetary funds to support a brother in blue and his lovely family who are in need of our generosity and support.
